Born on October 13, 1948 in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region. In 1974 he graduated from Magnitogorsk Mining and Metallurgical Institute as "Metal Forming", in 1994, received a second degree in "Production Management". He began his career at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Plant in 1967 as a mechanic in the repair shop of metallurgical equipment. Worked as an operator, team leader, foreman, shift supervisor, plant superintendent, head of the production and supply of products. In 1991 he was appointed chief engineer – first deputy CEO. From 1997, he headed the OAO "MMK" as CEO. From April 2005 - Chairman of the Board of Directors. Since 2006 - President of OOO "MMK Managing Company." Doctor of Technical Sciences (1998), Honorary Professor of MISiS (2002), Member of the Russian Academy of quality problems. He is the author of many scientific research, technological development and scientific works. Laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology (2001 and 2002).. Awarded Laureate of the national award of the Peter the Great "for his outstanding contribution to the Russian economy " (2000). Marked by numerous governmental and public awards.
